Teatro Bertolt Brecht – Bertold Brecht Theatre

Inaugurato nel 2009, il Teatro Bertolt Brecht è stato costruito nel popoloso quartiere di San Sisto, area interessata da importanti mutamenti urbanistici e sociali. Sorge a fianco della Biblioteca Sandro Penna ed è il risultato di un importante investimento dell’amministrazione comunale per dotare la città di un nuovo spazio funzionale e moderno, un polo culturale che, unitamente alla biblioteca, è capace di dare nuovo slancio al quartiere.La gestione artistica, organizzativa e tecnica del Teatro è affidata alla storica compagnia perugina fondata da Giampiero Frondini “La Fontemaggiore – Teatro Stabile di Innovazione”, che opera nel territorio regionale da circa sessanta anni e che oggi si occupa di teatro per ragazzi e di teatro contemporaneo.

Opened in 2009, the Brecht Theatre has been built in the populated district of San Sisto, subject to important urban and social changes. It is placed next to the Sandro Penna Library and is the result of an important economic investment of the Municipality in order to give the city a new modern and functional space, a cultural pole that, along with the library, can give new impetus to the neighbourhood.
The artistic, technical and managing direction was given to the historic theatre company “La Fontemaggiore – Teatro Stabile di Innovazione”, founded by Giampiero Frondini, working in the regional area since almost sixty years and that today mainly deals with Theatre for Children and Contemporary Theatre.
