Arricchiti dal monumento di Pietro Vannucci, detto il Perugino, e da busti di uomini illustri, i giardini sono dedicati al poeta che li immortalò nell’ode “Canto dell’amore”, concepito nel corso della sua presenza a Perugia del 1877.
La statua bronzea del Perugino è opera di Enrico Quattrini ed è stata inaugurata nel 1923, nel quattrocentesimo anniversario della morte del pittore. Il monumento è una delle testimonianze dello stile Liberty a Perugia, riconoscibile in particolare dal basamento con decorazioni floreali e dall’angelo ispiratore.
L’ultima domenica di ogni mese vi si svolge la fiera mercato “Antiquariato e Collezionismo a Perugia” e nel mese di luglio ospita una sezione di Umbria Jazz.

Enriched by the monument of Pietro Vannucci, known as Perugino, and busts of illustrious men, the gardens are dedicated to the poet Giosuè Carducci, who rendered them immortal in his ode “Canto all’amore”, written during his stay in Perugia in 1877.
The bronze statue of Perugino is by Enrico Quattrini and was opened on 1923, for the fourthudred anniversary of the death of the painter. It is one sample of Liberty Style in Perugia, to be particularly seen on the base with flora decoration and the inspiring angel.
Each last Sunday of the month, the trade fair of Antique and collectors of Perugia takes place here and in July it hosts a session of Umbria Jazz.
