Bosco didattico – Educational wood in Ponte Felcino

E’ un’area naturalistico-ambientale di circa 80.000 m² di proprietà comunale che ha lo scopo di promuovere la conoscenza e la valorizzazione dell’ambiente, con particolare interesse per il mondo vegetale

All’interno sono presenti più di 1.000 specie botaniche arboree, arbustive ed erbacee, appartenenti a circa 150 famiglie diverse. Vi sono inoltre due serre dedicate alle piante succulente (piante grasse), una serra dedicata agli agrumi, una grande serra a cupola con piante tropicali e un’altra con piante degli ambienti subtropicali.Completano la struttura due laghetti con piante acquatiche, un roseto con oltre 300 varietà di rose antiche e moderne, un grande spazio dedicato alle piante erbacee perenni, un frutteto con varietà di antica coltivazione, un modello di bosco planiziale e uno di bosco ripariale.

The educational wood, a natural and environmental area of about 80.000 m², owned by the Municipality of Perugia, has as its aim that of promoting the knowledge and valorisation of the environment, with particular regard to the vegetable world.

Within more than 1,000 botanic species can be found, trees, bushes and grasses, belonging to 150 different families. There are two greenhouses dedicated to succulent plants, one to citrus, a big one dome shaped with tropical plants and another one with plants of subtropical provenience.

To note also two little lakes with water plants, a rose garden with more than 300 varieties of roses, ancient and modern, a wide area with herbaceous perennials, an orchard with ancient species, a model of wet woods and one of riparian forest.

il bosco didattico è sempre aperto ma l’ingresso alle strutture protette (serre) è consentito solamente con la presenza degli operatori.
Estate: lunedi 16.00-19.00; martedì – sabato 8.30-12.00, 16.00-19.00; domenica 8.30-12.00.
Inverno: lunedi 15.00-17.00; martedì-sabato 8.30-12.00, 15.00-17.00; domenica 8.30-12.00.

Opening Hours: always open, but the entrance to the greenhouses is allowed only accompanied by operators, therefore possible only in their working hours. Summer: Mondays 4:00 pm – 7:00 pm; Tuesdays to Saturdays 8:30 am – 12:00 pm, 4:00 pm – 7:00 pm; Sundays 8:30 am – 12:00 pm.
Winter: Mondays 3:00 pm – 5:00 pm; Tuesdays to Saturdays 8:30 am – 12:00 pm, 3:00 pm – 5:00 pm; Sundays 8:30 am – 12:00 pm.
